Inspection
EDL hold the BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and operate a dedicated quality control facility.The quality department which is staffed by two permanent highly skilled and experienced engineers is fully equipped to handle all dimensional measurement inspection processes as well as facilities for hardness and metrology measurements.
Depending on your requirements we can offer a wide range of inspection programme's ranging from full inspection of every component though to first off or parts off according to agreed statistical variance requirements, ie, 1 in every 200.
Equipment
Our dedicated quality control department is set up with the following:
CNC CMM; B & S Global - Travel of 500mm in 'X', 600mm in 'Y' and 400mm in 'Z'. Part programming and printing of results used for statistical analysis.
CMM: Ferranti fitted with Quadra-chek 3000 - Travel of 600mm in 'X', 400mm in 'Y' and 400mm in 'Z'.
AIR GAUGING: For measurement of tapers and holes.
OTHER EQUIPMENT: Shadow Graph, surface finish measurement, hardness testing and conventional metrology measuring devices.
Capability
Our facilities and equipment allow us to work to the following tolerances:
CMM INSPECTION: ±0.005mm
CMM ON MACHINE: ±0.05mm
SURFACE FINISH: 2 micrometers
TRACEABILITY: From the moment something is checked out of our bonded materials store it is accounted for at each stage of casting, machining and finishing right through to despatch. Components are released with full certification and batch traceability.
